Space Rocket History #37 – Flight of Faith 7, Mercury-Atlas 9 with Gordon Cooper

  1. Hi Mike! Your podcast is absolutely amazing! Congratulations!

After listening to your Mercury mission chapters, I was wondering what happened to Deke Slayton. He was the only one of the Mercury Seven who did not fly into space and I wonder why. Maybe you should comment on that on later chapters.

You are doing a fantastic job! Thank you!

    • Hi Carlos,
Thanks for the kind words. Deke was grounded in 1962 because of an irregular heart rhythm. He did eventually get to fly on the Apollo-Soyuz Test flight. If I remember, I will mentioned it on the podcast.

      Mike
